Movement in the body and arms mildly affected, with the legs moderately affected.

Movement and coordination moderately affected in the mid-trunk and legs.

Movement or coordination affected in the legs to a moderate degree.

The absence of one leg.

Absence of legs just above the knee.

 


PTWC Triathletes compete in two sub-groups, H1’s have movement moderately affected in the legs and are also affected in the trunk and arms and H2’s have affected legs but good core, shoulder and arm strength.

In the swim all have to work hard to maintain good body position all use handcycles and racing wheelchairs. H2’s have the advantage of power from their abdominals to compensate for this H1’s have a timed head start.


 Triathlon PTWC H1/H2 is a competition class at the Paris 2024 Paralympics
