SB9 is for breaststroke swimmers with coordination affected at a low level in the legs, movement moderately affected in the hip joint or feet, highly affected in one foot, or minor limb absence.

These swimmers can all maintain optimum body position. They have to correct minor instability within their stroke pattern but their start and turns are almost unaffected.
